Birthday Party Movie Night Theme

My daughter turned 8 this month and wanted to have a movie night with all of her friends! It was perfect timing because on the day of her party, Disney’s new movie, “Raya and the Last Dragon” came out on Disney+! We had pizza, popcorn, and treats and enjoyed the movie on the big screen in our living room, thanks to our handy dandy projector. It was a lot of fun and we ended the night with a lot of hyped up kids!

Let’s start with the invitation. I always search Etsy for printable birthday invitations. They have any themed party invite you could imagine! You can usually edit them yourself and print at home or send to a photo/print shop. You can find the one I used here.

The decorations were easy and cheap thanks to Amazon. We went with a Hollywood theme: stars, red/gold/black balloons, and classic red/white stripes. We made sure to feed the kids lots of food and treats!

It was a lot of fun decorating for this party! The red carpet was a hit, and of course the kids LOVED the popcorn and movie theater candy.

The movie was really cute. All the kids loved it. The best part was that no one had seen it before so it felt like a real movie theatre experience. The projector screen we used was so easy to hang and came right off afterwards. We’ll be able to reuse it again with some more command strip tape if we want to have another movie night! Thinking we may need to hang it permanently upstairs. It makes the movie experience a lot more exciting.

We ended the party with a popsicle cake (not pictured because it was literal chaos by this point!) and called it a night! I love throwing birthday parties for my kids and seeing them have fun with all of their friends. It was worth the time it took to plan and decorate, even though I had an insane amount of candy and popcorn covering our living room by the end of it!

Worth it!
